Aborey Strikes Back: When the People and Army Move as One
In the early hours of the morning, something powerful happened in the Hiiraan region — not just a military operation, but a moment of unity, courage, and national pride.
The Somali National Army (SNA), alongside brave local forces, launched a successful offensive in the village of Aborey, completely clearing out the Al-Shabaab militants who had tried to destabilize the area. But the real story? It wasn’t just about the military. It was about the people.
Civilians from nearby Moqokori district didn’t wait to be asked — they mobilized. They brought food, milk, and drinking water right to the frontlines. These weren’t just supplies — they were signs of love, loyalty, and belief in a better, safer Somalia.
In a time when terrorists try to use fear and chaos, the people of Hiiraan showed that unity beats extremism every time.
This isn’t an isolated moment. All over Somalia — from Hiiraan to Galguduud, from Aborey to the Calmiskaad mountains — the national army is pushing forward, eliminating terrorist hideouts, destroying weapon caches, and chasing down fleeing militants.
Even in Puntland, the counter-terrorism units dealt a hard blow to ISIS remnants, proving once again that there’s no safe place for terrorists in Somalia.
We salute our troops. We honor our people. And we remember every hero — wounded or fallen — who made these victories possible.
This is Somalia’s time. And we’re taking it back — together.
