Somalia’s Brave Forces Reclaim Security and Crush Extremist Dreams
In the heart of Somalia, a new chapter is being written—one of resilience, courage, and unity. The Somali National Army (SNA), backed by the unwavering support of local communities and civilian groups like the Macaawisley, is making bold strides in the fight against terrorism.
Recently, government forces successfully reclaimed Ruun-Nirgood, a key district in the Middle Shabelle region, long exploited by the terrorist group Al-Shabaab. This isn’t just a military victory; it’s a message: Somalia belongs to its people, not to fear.
Joint operations by the army and community forces didn’t just push back the militants—they destroyed their hideouts, dismantled their networks, and sent a loud signal to extremists hiding in the shadows: your days are numbered.
Meanwhile, in the Bari region, Puntland forces are turning up the heat on ISIS remnants, uncovering weapons caches, drones, and chasing the last of the terrorist fighters out of their mountain hideouts. Three militants even surrendered, realizing the futility of fighting a united Somalia.
This rise in national unity was visible during a UN-backed event in Mogadishu marking International Mine Awareness Day. With landmine clearance efforts in full swing, 70% of IEDs are being safely located and dismantled, thanks to the tireless work of Somalia’s bomb disposal units.
But what truly inspires the nation is the sacrifice of its heroes. Injured soldiers were honored recently by the Somali Police Commissioner, who assured them of continued support. These soldiers are not just fighters—they are nation-builders.
Across Somalia, the people are standing with their army. Whether in HirShabelle, Puntland, or Mogadishu, the spirit is one: no space for terrorists, only room for peace.
Al-Shabaab and ISIS might try to make noise on social media, releasing videos to pump false pride—but the reality on the ground is clear. They are running, hiding, surrendering, and soon, will be no more.
This is Somalia’s moment. And its people are ready to protect it at all costs.
