The Council of Candidates withdraws its confidence from the Committee for Certification of Parliamentarians in Puntland

 
 the Council of Candidates for the Presidential Elections in Puntland, which includes 16 candidates, issued a statement confirming its withdrawal of confidence from the Dispute Resolution and Certification Committee of representatives of the state parliament.

The Council accused the aforementioned committee of working with the President of Puntland, Said Abdullah, who is one of the candidates, and that it began approving representatives representing the Khatima regions, even though the sultans of the clans of those regions confirmed that they would not have representatives in the next Puntland Parliament.

The Council indicated that it would begin consultations with the clan sultans, security officers and civil society organizations to avoid the occurrence of a constitutional and security conflict in Puntland.

Finally, the statement made it clear that President Saïd Deni and the Electoral Dispute Resolution and Parliament Approval Committee will bear the consequences of their actions.
