Somalia Ranks 4th Globally in Pilgrimage Services: A Proud Moment for the Nation
In a historic and heartening development, Somalia has been ranked 4th globally among countries providing outstanding services to pilgrims this year, according to an international assessment that highlights excellence in Hajj management and care.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, H.E. Sheikh Mukhtar Robow Ali, who praised the efforts of the Ministry and the country’s leadership in achieving this milestone. The recognition, he noted, came after significant improvements and dedicated work in organizing and facilitating Hajj for Somali pilgrims.
“We were among the top countries that served pilgrims best—and we were awarded for it,” said the Minister. “This recognition reflects the visible progress and positive change in how Somalia supports its citizens during Hajj.”
A Symbol of National Progress
The Minister emphasized that the award is a source of pride for all Somalis, as it symbolizes not just religious commitment, but also growing institutional capability and international respect.
He attributed the success to:
-
Strategic leadership from the highest levels of government
-
Effective coordination between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Hajj organizers
-
Improved logistics, accommodation, health services, and guidance provided to pilgrims during their sacred journey
This award sends a powerful message: Somalia is re-emerging as a capable, service-oriented nation on the international stage—even in areas as complex and sacred as managing pilgrimage logistics.
A New Standard for Hajj Services
Somalia’s recognition this year marks a remarkable transformation in how the country approaches religious affairs. Once facing significant challenges in coordinating large-scale pilgrimages, Somalia now joins the ranks of nations that offer structured, professional, and compassionate Hajj services.
This achievement could inspire future collaborations with other countries, further strengthening Somalia's role in global Islamic affairs.
More Than an Award—A National Achievement
For many citizens, this accolade feels deeply personal. It validates the experience of Somali pilgrims who witnessed, firsthand, the upgrades and care provided throughout their journey.
Minister Robow Ali concluded his remarks by calling on all sectors to continue building on this momentum:
“Let this be the beginning of more national accomplishments in serving our people, both at home and abroad.”
In a time when positive headlines about Somalia are especially meaningful, this recognition stands out. It tells a story of growth, excellence, and above all, commitment to serving the Somali people wherever they are—even in the holiest places on Earth.
Somalia is not only protecting its future—it’s honoring its faith.
A proud moment for Somalia! Ranking 4th globally in Hajj services shows real progress and dedication
