Somali Forces Strike at the Heart of Terror in Aadan Yabaal
In a decisive move against extremism, Somali government forces have demolished two Al-Shabaab weapons depots in Aadan Yabaal, a key town in Middle Shabelle once considered a terrorist hub.
The strike, carried out in the Howlwadaag neighborhood, targeted facilities used to prepare explosive-laden vehicles and store lethal weaponry. One depot reportedly went up in flames, signaling the presence of volatile explosives.
Aadan Yabaal has long served as a launchpad for Al-Shabaab operations across central Somalia. By striking deep into the group’s logistics, the Somali army is sending a clear message: the days of militant dominance are over.
The operation follows a previous offensive that killed over 20 militants in the same district. With each mission, the army is reclaiming land, hope, and safety. Regaining control of Aadan Yabaal is not just about geography—it's about restoring governance, peace, and the soul of a nation.
