In a decisive move against extremism, Somali government forces have demolished two Al-Shabaab weapons depots in Aadan Yabaal, a key town in Middle Shabelle once considered a terrorist hub.

The strike, carried out in the Howlwadaag neighborhood, targeted facilities used to prepare explosive-laden vehicles and store lethal weaponry. One depot reportedly went up in flames, signaling the presence of volatile explosives.

Aadan Yabaal has long served as a launchpad for Al-Shabaab operations across central Somalia. By striking deep into the group’s logistics, the Somali army is sending a clear message: the days of militant dominance are over.
