AFRICOM Airstrike Targets ISIS in Northeastern Somalia, Backing Puntland Forces
The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), in collaboration with the Federal Government of Somalia, recently conducted an airstrike targeting ISIS militants approximately 70 kilometers southeast of Bosaso in the Bari region. According to the Somali National News Agency, the airstrike was part of a broader mission to support the Puntland Security Forces, who are leading the fight against ISIS elements hiding in the region.
