Government forces remove Alshabab group from areas under Mahadaay district.

Somali forces in cooperation with locals have conducted operations against Al-Shabaab in several areas under Mahadaay district in the central Shabelle region.

The areas that were expelled from the al-shabaab group include Obaale, Damasha Shabelow, Alag and Mansour, all of which are areas on the banks of the Shabelle River on the east, which include agricultural land and farming.

The commander of the 281st Association of the 28st Battalion of the Abu Ubeyda of the Somali National Armed Forces, Mohamed Duraan, told the national media that the group that was in these areas had been expelled and that they had crossed the river westward.

"The National Army and the residents were able to remove the group from the area where they were hiding, and now the forces are following their dispersal and all the areas where they were expelled are under the control of the forces," said Lieutenant General Mohamed Duraan.

Commander Duraan also said that the army is still behind the al-Shabaab group's dispersal and will continue to carry out such operations against Al-Shabaab.

Finally, the Al-Shabaab group was expelled from these areas where the group was organizing ambush attacks and bombings in some towns in the central Shabelle region.
