Al-Shabaab leaders and militia killed in operation in Bay region.

Somali armed forces and local people cooperating conducted an operation against Al-Shabaab in Sarman Dhere area of Bay region.

In the operation carried out by the forces in the Sarman Dhere area where the Al-Shabaab group was waiting, members of the opposition and militia were killed, whose number has not been officially announced.

A brief statement issued by the federal government stated that the cooperating forces also captured the lives of members of the group in the Sarman Dhere area.

"This operation took place in the Sarman Dhere area of the Bay region and killed the leaders and militia of the Khawaja. While some militias were killed and some were taken alive," the statement from the government said.

This operation in which Alshabab members were killed is part of the operations of the government forces and those of the local people who are cooperating in many parts of the country.
