The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a meeting at the European Union headquarters in Brussels with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
The meeting dealt with ways of cooperation between Somalia and the European Union in the areas of security and economy, the process of building the state and developing infrastructure, according to a brief statement issued by the Somali presidency.
Michel praised the efforts of the Somali government in the war against terrorism, which he said was essential for security and stability in Somalia after three decades of conflict that led to the displacement of millions.
The meeting was part of the meetings held by Somali President Hassan Sheikh with participants in the European Union and developing countries summit.
