The Somali army was able to control the “Ayl Bon” area.
It is located in the city of Wajid in Bakool District, southwestern Somalia.
A military official confirmed that the aforementioned area, which is about 40 kilometers from the city of Wajid
It was taken from Al-Shabaab fighters who were in that area.The official added that during the operation, the army was also able to seize weapons and vehicles that fighters were using to harass residents, pledging to continue operations in Bakool province.
The operation came days after the visit of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to both Bay and Bakool regions
In South West State, to urge the state leadership to begin military operations against Al-Shabaab, similar to what is happening in Galmudug and Hirshabelle states.
