Sunni scholars warn against calls for youth freedom

Scholars from the Sunnis and the community expressed their support for the war against Al-Shabaab
led by the Somali government and warned against calls to negotiate with the group before it disarms and abandons extremist ideology.
The scholars concluded their meeting in the capital, Mogadishu, noted
On Monday, October 23, 2023, in the final statement of the meeting, they indicated their standing by the Somali Armed Forces and their allied militias, and promised to form a committee that would work to organize and support efforts aimed at liberating the country from the Kharijites.
The scholars demanded that the war against the Kharijites not be politicized and that the unity of the nation be preserved

And to stay away from everything that poses a threat to the stability of the country, as well as from everything that gives the Kharijites an opportunity to cause problems, and they called for caution against the strife raised by the Al-Shabaab movement among the Somali tribes.

In their statement, the scholars affirmed their full support for the Palestinian cause, and pointed out that liberating Jerusalem is the duty of every Muslim.
