At least seven people were killed in clan clashes in a village in the city of Dosmarib, the capital of Galmudug state in central Somalia.
Violent clashes broke out in the village of Hananbouri, about 45 kilometers from Dosmarib, and tensions between tribal militias continue in the area, according to what local residents reported.
The new fighting between militias in the Galgadud region of Galmudug state coincides with the continuation of clan clashes in the Middle Shabelle region of Hirshabelle state, which led to the killing of 10 people over the past two weeks.
The Somali federal government accused Al-Shabaab of fueling clan conflicts in different regions of the country with the aim of diverting tribal militias from participating in the ongoing military operations against them.
