A team of police officers foiled a planned attack on passenger service vehicles when they discovered and recovered an improvised explosive device in Dadaab, northeastern Garissa County, near the border with Somalia.
The bomb was prepared by suspected Al-Shabaab terrorists as a police team patrolling the area discovered and secured the bomb.
According to police sources, experts from the bomb disposal unit arrived at the scene and disposed of the device safely.
The incident comes about a week after two Al-Shabaab militants were killed when a bomb exploded on them in the Amoma area of the county.
