On Sunday morning, Al-Shabaab fighters launched a major attack on Somali army bases in the “Bari Uged” area, located about 60 kilometers from the city of Giri Eil in the Gal Ghudud region of Galmudug state in central Somalia.
According to received reports, the attack began with explosions, followed by violent fighting between the attackers and government forces, resulting in deaths and injuries on both sides.
Both the Somali federal government and the Al-Shabaab movement, which is linked to Al-Qaeda, announced heavy losses among the other side.
