The forces of the country's army, the 27th division, moved from Buulo-burde district yesterday and spread to the outskirts of the district, starting heavy operations against the Al-Shabaab armed group. The reports also say that the military has shut down the communication in those areas, as there is a heavy operation & organization against Al-Shabaab. Somali military officials who spoke to the media announced that they have reached the areas of Eemoy, Dhagax Yaalle, Kilad Gubadley and Elka-Dabyoole. The army also destroyed boats on the Shabelle River, which they said were being used by members of the Al-Shabaab organization who were on the run.
The purpose of these operations is to free Al-Shabaab from there, and to prevent the attacks they carry out in Hiran region. On the other hand, Mawisley militias are also fighting against Al-Shabaab in Jalalaqsi district, where there have been heavy clashes. The situation is still very difficult, and there is no news from the Al-Shabaab group regarding these operations. However, these issues are coming to an end, as a day ago, Al-Shabaab killed civilians in the outskirts of Beledweyn, and then burned the vehicles they were traveling with.
On the other hand, the Commander of the Somali Police Force, General Abdi Hassan Mohamed (Hijaar), who held a press conference, gave details of a serious operation carried out by the security forces yesterday morning in the Basra area, southwest of Mogadishu. The commander said that Basra was targeted in a court that Al-Shabaab had in that area for a long time, and he also said that the area where the attack was carried out was taxing the businessmen of Mogadishu.
