Al-Shabaab has a strong relation with Al-Qaida organization.
The Al-Shabaab group, which is affiliated with Al-Qaeda, has recently increased its operations in the countries of the Horn of Africa, especially Somalia and Ethiopia. Deadly and injured casualties were caused by two terrorist explosions last week in South West Somalia, and among the victims were prominent government officials.
Last night Al-Shabaab fighters launched a heavy attack on a base of Ugandan troops operating on behalf of AMISOM in Galwan area of the Lower Shabelle region. On Tuesday in Mogadishu, two civilians were killed and others were injured in an explosion that targeted a military vehicle, just hours after the United States warned of al-Shabaab terrorist activities in Somalia and Ethiopia. Also, two civilians were killed and others were injured in an explosion that targeted a vehicle carrying Somali government troops. The explosion, which was caused by a mine buried on the side of the road, took place at the "Trapunka" intersection, where there are many pedestrians, especially in the Hodon district.
These attacks and many others took place in less than a month, which can be said to be a miracle that the Al-Shabaab movement did not happen before and the new government must take responsibility for this issue and resolve it. A Somali expert explained that the attacks carried out by Al-Shabaab in Somalia are showing the new government that they still have the power to rule the country, as political changes have taken place in the country and a new phase has been entered.
