Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, accompanied by Eritrean President Afwerki, inspected the camp where the country's troops have been training for three years.
The first sighting of the soldiers, who have not been seen since 2019, was fraudulently carried to Eritrea, where they were initially scheduled to undergo training in Qatar.
MW Hassan has previously promised to work hard to bring the soldiers back to the country, and said before his re-election that he would be happy for the parents of the missing youth.
Former President Farmajo failed to repatriate the soldiers, and was not even able to share their official information with the public, prompting relatives of the youth to stage protests in the country.
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the president of Somalia's Transitional Federal Government (TFG), has on Saturday arrived in Eritrea for a two-day official visit.
Prior to taking office, Hassan had repeatedly expressed suspicion that Somali soldiers in Eritrea had been used in the Ethiopian war, citing international reports, including a United Nations report.
On May 23, 2022, Farmajo put the number of troops at 5,000, but earlier reports put the number at close to 7,000, so Farmajo and Fahad yasin took responsibility for any deaths and should be held accountable.
