Somalia’s Prime Minister Lays Foundation for Key Road in Mogadishu
Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of a vital road in Buulo-Xuubey neighborhood, Wadajir District, spanning nearly two kilometers. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, marking a significant step in Mogadishu’s urban development.
Prime Minister Barre highlighted that the project will create job opportunities, boost local businesses, and enhance the beauty and functionality of the capital. He emphasized that improving roads across Mogadishu is crucial for security, mobility, transportation, and access to public services.
“The Buulo-Xuubey road, with its long history, is among the most important routes in the capital, connecting key facilities essential for transportation, public movement, and commerce,” said Prime Minister Barre.
The Prime Minister also praised the Benadir Regional Administration for their efforts in improving roads and public services and encouraged authorities to accelerate initiatives for urban beautification, sanitation, and hygiene.
Governor of Banadir and Mayor of Mogadishu, Hassan Mohamed Hussein Muungaab, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to accelerating the city’s development and continuing the reconstruction of more roads to enhance the capital’s infrastructure.
