 Somalia’s Frontlines Blaze with Victory: Terrorists Fall as the Nation Rises

Somalia is writing a new chapter—one of victory, unity, and relentless progress against the forces of terror. Across the country, from Galgaduud to Puntland, the Somali National Army and allied forces are delivering crushing blows to Al-Shabaab, ISIS, and Al-Qaeda.

This week, Puntland Defense Forces liberated Miiraale, eliminating 15 ISIS militants and dismantling their last base in the region. In Aboorey, the SNA and Ma’awisley militias neutralized Al-Shabaab commander Abu Hanifa. Meanwhile, Galmudug forces launched a surprise attack near Ceel La Helay, striking terror camps and showing the growing coordination between regional forces and local defenders.

The judicial system is also playing its role. A military court in Mogadishu sentenced five Al-Shabaab operatives involved in assassination and bombing plots, demonstrating Somalia’s zero-tolerance stance toward extremism.

Yet the threat is evolving. UN reports confirm an alarming collaboration between Yemen’s Houthi rebels and Al-Shabaab, raising the stakes for Somalia and the region. Still, international support, especially through U.S. airstrikes, has proven invaluable in weakening terrorist infrastructure.

Somalia is not just surviving—it is rising. With its people, its army, and its leadership united, the nation is proving that even in the face of darkness, resilience and determination can light the way to peace.
