In a bold and coordinated effort, Somali and U.S. forces have delivered another crippling blow to Al-Shabaab’s terror strongholds. The recent airstrike northwest of Kismayo, executed by AFRICOM, is part of a growing campaign to destroy Al-Shabaab’s ability to operate with impunity.

Director of NISA, Sanbaloolshe, and other key military leaders praised the bravery of the Tardo community and the Ma’awisley fighters. Local elders echoed the sentiment, pledging continued resistance and support for national troops.

With operations surging in both Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle, and increasing U.S. strategic involvement, Somalia is making it known: the era of fear is ending.
