Al-Shabaab members surrender in Baidoa.

Al-Shabaab elements have surrendered to security forces and the National Intelligence Service (NIS) operating in southwestern regional administration areas, especially in Baidoa, the administration's interim capital.

The number of these gunmen who surrendered to the security forces is three: Ibrahim Hussein Mohamed, Nur Muhammad Abu Bakr and Yeri Ali Hussein.

They were members of al-Shabaab and its fighters operating in the Bay, Bakool, Lower Shabelle and Hiran regions, said their surrender was the result of the difficult living conditions they faced, and called on their friends to defect from the group and surrender to the Somali government.
