The Somali army announces the killing of 80 Al-Shabaab fighters in Mudug region
The Somali army announced the killing of more than 80 Al-Shabaab militants in military operations in the Mudug region of Galmudug state in central Somalia.
Infantry Commander Admiral Deh Abdi, who spoke to government media, confirmed that forces supported by local militants and Galmudug state forces succeeded during the past 48 hours in liberating several villages in Medug governorate.
It should be noted that the extremist Somali Al-Shabaab movement has been fighting the Somali government and the African forces supporting it since 2007.
