Somali official media reported on Sunday that more than 60 Al-Shabaab fighters were killed in a joint operation in Hiran region in central Somalia.
According to state-owned media, the operation, which took many hours, took place in the village of “Halu Baad”, located 8 kilometers southwest of the “Helgen” region in Hiran Governorate, Hirshabelle State.
She added that the joint operation, which was carried out in cooperation with international partners, also led to the destruction of many terrorist bases and the seizure of weapons.
