The Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the United Nations voted to approve a draft resolution submitted by Arab countries condemning the violations committed by Israeli forces against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
A statement issued by the mission called for the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip after Israel cut off electricity, communications and the Internet from the Strip.
The statement condemned the targeting of civilians and forced displacement, stressing Somalia’s strong position in support of the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
