The Prime Minister of Somalia, Mr. Hamse Abdi Barre, who today opened the 5th annual meeting of Somali prosecutors, spoke strongly about the increasing number of murders in Mogadishu.  The Prime Minister who spoke angrily about the killings, especially those inflicted by the civilians on the soldiers of the government forces, said that it is unacceptable at this time of war with the Khawarij groups.  "Every day, a student who was studying at the university, a poor person who was working as a bus driver and his parents are waiting for him, is being shot with difficulty.

If justice is not done and the enemy is being chased outside, there is nothing different about this," he said.  "We are doing our best and we said that we will ensure security, but the crimes are happening, in the bush and fighting with the enemy, but it is not acceptable that they happen here every day."  Mr. Hamza also instructed the justice institutions to take immediate measures to hold the groups responsible for the killings accountable.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister pointed out that Justice is a connected unit and it is necessary to correct it at once, and nothing can be done about security, economy and social services if it is not corrected.  "When it comes together, it is a connected network and it is necessary to fix it all at once. We know that they are working hard, but first of all, we must acknowledge the importance of justice for the country and the nation."  He also called for the Somali community to be made aware of the practices based on bribery and corruption, and anyone found to be brought before the law.
