The federal government of Somalia announced yesterday that 49 members of Al-Shabaab were killed in a planned operation and bombing, while a number of others were injured.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Information said that the planned operation and bombings were carried out by the Special Forces of the National Security and Intelligence Agency, the National Armed Forces and international friends in Bulo Medina area in the Lower Shabelle region.
The operation which was a target took place as planned and destroyed all the military vehicles and weapons that the Khawarij Al-Shabaab had in the area, according to the statement issued by the Ministry of Information.
The members of Al-Shabaab who were killed in Buulo Medina area were preparing conspiracies to harass the Somali people, but they were foiled and defeated by the intelligence forces and the forces of the country with the help of international friends.
The Somali government has finally thanked all the Somali people who today are part of the fight to free Al-Shabaab from the whole country, and are standing by the armed forces of the country.
This operation, which the government said killed many Al-Shabaab, comes at a time when the operation against the group has slowed down, which was going on fast in many parts of the country.
