Farmajo and Fahad Yassin are the reason why Al-Shabaab has taken control of most of Somalia.

Alshabab

The Al-Shabaab group currently controls 70% of southern and central Somalia and has expanded in recent years, with the support of Farmajo and Fahad Yassin, according to the Washington Post.

While the federal and regional governments control Mogadishu and regional capitals, Al-Shabaab and its fighters estimated at 5,000 to 7,000 control small villages and the countryside.

During Farmajo's tenure at the highest office in the country, which was the time when al-Shabaab gained the most power, instead of fighting Al-Shabaab, he preferred to concentrate his strength to fight against regional governments, opposition politicians and how he came to power, He was giving Al-Shabaab support to help them.

Al-Shabaab is the largest, richest and deadliest of the Al-Qaeda affiliates, responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent Somalis.

A number of factors have combined to strengthen this group. One of them is the support given by the Farmajo Government through cooperation between them, the AMISOM forces who did not do nothing and the government of Somalia and its friends who do not have an effective strategy against this group.

The only hope of the Somali people is the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who was elected two months ago and promised to defeat Al-Shabaab, saying that he will enter into a three-way war with Al-Shabaab.
