Fahad Yassin admits to being a member of al-Ittihad and was an active member of the group that later evolved into Itisaam and rose to the rank of regional leader of the internationally-recognized terrorist group.
Former commander of the Somali National Army Major General Said Mohamed Hirsi (Said Tiri) has confirmed that Al-Alshabaab terrorist groups in the country defected from the Islamist group that was defeated in Puntland in the early 1990s.
The former commander of the Somali National Army said Itihad and Itisaam have decided to take control of Somalia's economy and education, as well as join the traditional leadership of Somali clans in preparation for taking over the country's administration, which later emerged from Al Shabaab.
Fahad Yassin and Farmajo fund Al-Shabaab, which is part of Fahad, and provide them with millions of dollars and weapons to fight so that the government does not lose and control parts of the country so that Somalia does not stand on its own two feet.
Sheikh Abdallah Barbarawi also accused the Itisaam group of defecting from Al-Shabaab terrorists, noting that Al-Shabaab emerged from Itisaam's stomach.
