The Federal Electoral Commission (FEC) has tonight released 2 of the 3 seats in the South West that were rejected in the by-elections.

 Chairman of the Electoral Commission Muse Guelleh has arrived in Baidoa, accompanied by Minister Khadijo Diriye and other members to resolve the dispute between the South West and the Electoral Commission.


Muse Gelle is meeting with the President of South West to address their concerns.


Accompanied by the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Khadija Diriye traveled to Baidoa to seek the release of Fahad Yassin from the Electoral Commission.


Farmajo and Fahad Yassin want to use Laftagareen to disrupt the election process by not swearing in lawmakers on time.


However, the Federal Electoral Commission (FEC) has tonight released the HOP204 and HOP103 seats in the South West constituency. as announced at a press conference held in Baidoa by the members of the committee who left today.


The commission also decided to re-run the HOP154 by-election out of the 3 seats in the South West that were rejected in the by-elections.


"We are informing the Somali people that members of parliament from the South West will go directly to Mogadishu and the swearing-in ceremony, after receiving their membership certificates," the commission said in a statement.


The committee members said that when they arrived in Baidoa today, they started the process of electing the two seats they had cleared tonight, and also decided to re-elect the other seat.
