Somali Ministry of Internal Security refers to the letter Ref. OPM / 0194/04/2022 issued by the Office of the Prime Minister has ordered the Immigration and Naturalization Service to revoke the residence of Ambassador Francisco Madeira and not to issue him with a visa again.
The ministry also instructed the Immigration and Naturalization Service to inform all concerned that Ambassador Francisco Madeira could not be extradited as he was not wanted in the country.
The letter from the Ministry of Security instructed security agencies, particularly those operating at Aden Adde International Airport, that the Madeira Ambassador could not enter the country as he was an unwanted person.
The order came after the African Union rejected a decision by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to expel the AU Special Representative for Somalia Francisco Madeira.
AU Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat said instead that they were taking Farmajo's decision not to expel Ambassador Francisco Madeira and that he would remain in office.
It is learned that Abiy Ahmed has pressured the African Union to work with Farmajo, who is at loggerheads with Roble, to prevent elections in the country.
