Senator Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, received the votes of 28 Senators in the Upper House, which means he has won more than two-thirds [50 + 1], the seat he has held for the past five years.

Senator Salah Ahmed Jama, the current Minister for the Constitution of the Transitional Federal Government (TFG), who has been campaigning the most and is widely expected to win the seat, received 24 votes and came in second.

The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Senator Osman Obokor Dubbe, also received 2 votes, and the election results were announced at the Aficio Tent by the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) Chairman Mohamed Abdi Yusuf [Gagaab].

The Somali people and the Council of Candidates Union, congratulate Senator Abdi Hashi Abdullahi on his election as Speaker of the 11th Upper House of the Federal Parliament 2022-2026.

Senator Abdi Hashi was at the forefront of the struggle against the illegal extension and political turmoil led by dictator Farmajo.

Abdi Hashi's victory means a victory for the Somali people with a neutral parliament far from the hands of Farmajo and Fahad Yasin who have been disrupting the country.

Today we are waiting for Sheikh Adan Madobe to win the post of Speaker of Parliament, to complete the victory.
