Credible reports indicate that the head of the Somali National Security and Intelligence Agency, Fahad Yassin, is on his way to Dolow district in Jido region today.
Fahad Yassin is expected to travel to Dolow from Baled Hawo district in Jido region where former Jubbaland security minister Abdirashid Janan is expected to arrive today.
According to sources, Fahad Yassin and other Somali government officials are on their way to Baled Hawo to finalize the agreement reached between Abdirashid Janan and the federal government.
Abdirashid Janan is expected to arrive in Baled Hawo today with the troops under his command where preparations are underway for his reception to reach a formal agreement with the federal government.
According to reports, Abdirashid Janan may be flown to Mogadishu from Turkey, where he is said to be living, as part of an agreement with the government.
Fahad Yassin, the key figure in the government and the mastermind behind the takeover of Jido region by government forces, worked to persuade Abdirashid Janan to secede from Ahmed Madobe and reconcile with the federal government.
Farmajo's government has previously accused Minister Janan of escaping from a prison in Mogadishu, and the government is expected to pardon him after the deal.
