Turkey has recruited 5 thousand Somalis as mercenaries in Libya
Somali website revealed that hundreds of young Somalis have been deceived into joining the mercenary army sent to Libya; Amid a major escalation of tensions between Turkey and Egypt and fears of a war in Sirte, Libya.
The "Somali Guardian" website said that more than 2,000 Somalis, among the new forces fighting on behalf of Turkey and Qatar, were deployed on the front lines of Libya to join the fight against the Libyan National Army
Some young men recruited to serve the Qatari army told the "Somali Guardian" website, that many of their colleagues in the country have already been deployed in the confrontation areas in Libya and that they are waiting to be sent to the hostile region.
Young people who were granted Turkish citizenship earlier said that it hurts them when the media consider them Somali mercenaries, but many of them say that poverty and unemployment have forced them to throw themselves into a "raging fire."
