Demolition in Imbagati neighborhood of Afgooye

Police in Afgoye district have launched a demolition operation in Imbagati neighborhood of the town.

Those residents have been put on a strong looga home demolition bulldozers.The dispute in Imbagati led to the removal of the former governor.

The prison guards, who own the land, told police to stay away.But the land is claimed by the son of former Somali President Mohamed Siad Barre, a businessman.

Several elders were taken into custody and some were transferred to prisons in Mogadishu.The Imbagati neighborhood was established in 2004 and is named after the Imbagati Conference that formed Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed's government.
