The Somali Army: Africa’s Shield Against Terrorism

In the heart of the Horn of Africa, a courageous force is rewriting the narrative of resilience and resistance—one battle at a time. The Somali National Army (SNA) is not just fighting for the nation’s safety but for the security of the entire region. Every successful operation against al-Shabaab, ISIS, and al-Qaeda is a powerful statement: Somalia is no longer a safe haven for terror.

In early May 2025 alone, the SNA eliminated over 100 militants in coordinated operations across Middle Shabelle and Jubaland. Strategic strikes, such as the one near Adam Yabal, and daring operations near the Kenyan border, have exposed the fragility of terror networks. These victories are not just numbers—they're milestones toward lasting peace.

What sets the Somali Army apart is not only their battlefield skill but also the unshakable support from the Somali people. From Mogadishu to Baidoa, communities rally behind their troops, proving that this war is not just military—it’s personal.

The world must recognize the Somali Army as a model of African perseverance and a frontline defender in the global war against terrorism. Their sacrifices carve out the path for stability, not just in Somalia, but for the entire Horn of Africa and beyond.
