Armed clan militia kill two brothers, injure family in Galgaduud region

Two brothers from the Adado district, Abdinregion's Abdikarim Ahmed Arab, were killed and their family injured in a clan militia attack in the Oodan area of Galgaduud last night. The attackers, believed to be from the Harardheere district in Mudug, fled immediately after the incident.

Local security forces have arrived at the scene and are searching for the perpetrators.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The double murder is part of a larger pattern of clan-based conflict in Galgaduud, fueled by disputes over uninhabited land. The Galmudug government, led by Minister of Security Mohamed Abdi Aden Gaboobe, has vowed to hold those responsible accountable. Despite some figures behind the violence having been identified and legal action being promised, the violence persists.

The attack follows a series of deadly clashes in the Landhere area, where over 50 people have died recently. In response, heightened security measures have been implemented, including additional troops, checkpoints, and curfews in Landhere and other affected areas.

The ongoing conflict involves the Marehan and Dir clans. Recent violence in the Mudug region between the Sa'ad and Lelakase sub-clans resulted in 20 deaths and 50 injuries. Both Galmudug and Puntland officials have called for a ceasefire and military intervention to prevent further escalation. Galmudug regional state leader Ahmed Abdi Kariye QorQor previously accused unnamed politicians of instigating the inter-clan
