Farmajo and his team are committed to doing whatever it takes to stay at Villa Somalia

Farmajo

Farmajo's faction intends to disrupt the election of Somalia's bicameral parliament until their plan to elect a speaker of parliament and the re-election of Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo as president comes to fruition.

Lafta Gareen and Qoorqoor, presidents of the South West and Galmudug of the Farmajo faction, have strongly opposed the announcement by the Federal Electoral Commission that the new parliamentarians will be sworn in at a ceremony in the office of the Somali prime minister on April 14th.

Farmajo's group intends to disrupt the completion of Somalia's elections in order to carry out their plan.

Farmajo and his team are determined to stay in power at all costs. It is planned that money and military forces will carry out their wishes. They have also decided not to listen to any pressure from the international community.

The main points they are currently focusing on are:

1) to wage war on the Federal Electoral Commission.

2) that the swearing in of the new parliamentarians should not take place in the office of the Prime Minister

3) That the election of the 16 seats in Garbaharey be held on the spot and not relocated to another city if necessary and held in a place where Farmajo's group has military might such as Mogadishu.

4) Convene a conference of the Dir and Digil & Mirifle clans in Baidoa to announce a political alliance between the two clans in order to secure their votes during the parliamentary and presidential elections.

5) Announce support for Farmajo's candidacy for the presidency of Somalia at the Baidoa conference.

Farmajo's group will not stop the international community from issuing daily statements calling on Somali leaders to end dozens of delayed elections.

Opposition groups called for a boycott of the election in protest of Farmajo and his group's attempt to disrupt Somalia's elections.
