When you live in a country like Somalia, you feel that things are getting worse every day. Life is meaningless day after day. Somalia became the most corrupt country in the world during Farmajo's rule.
The outgoing President Farmajo succeeded in achieving the first place in the world for Somalia. But did you ask the first place in the world in any field? The fact of the matter is that Somalia has deteriorated its position from ninth to first globally on the international corruption index at the hands of Farmajo.
Farmajo’s corruption affected all state institutions. It spreads corruption within the various sectors of the state, as happened by violating the law on the disposal of state lands, which he personally issued 3 years ago and allowed to be sold, such as the National Theater and the incident of ministers’ hospitals.
The corruption of Farmajo and his government did not stop within state institutions only, but his corruption reached the rigging of the elections in an open manner without any fear of accountability.
Everything we see in our country of corruption, confusion, chaos and deterioration stems from the officials’ lack of sense of duty. Everyone is looking for his personal goals at the expense of the Somali people.
Somalia's corruption comes from the corruption of its ruler. The public financial auditor and the Ministry of Finance have proven that Farmajo embezzled millions of dollars from state funds.
How can a country ruled by a corrupt person advance in the fight against corruption? Losing something does not give it. The thief cannot catch himself. And the spoiler never admits his corruption. This is the case for our country, Somalia.
Corruption does not fight corruption. The committee appointed by the outgoing president Farmajo to combat corruption is the basis for the existence of corruption in Somalia. It was created with the aim of legalizing the corruption of Farmajo and his associates.
