Somalia officers make the bombing easier to Al-Shabab

UN Security Council calls for immediate end to hostilities in Somalia

The United Nations Security Council has issued a statement condemning the killing of Somali Police Chief Sadiq Omar Hassan John.

Former United Nations envoy to Somalia accuses Sadiq of links to al-Shabab

The United Nations Security Council has ruled that General Sadiq Omar Mohamed, the commander of the Benadir regional police force, has been cleared of any links to al-Shabaab.

At last night's UN Security Council meeting on Somalia, Belgian Ambassador and Chair of the UN Sanctions Committee Philippe Kridelka said that following a review of the UN Monitoring Group's report, there was no evidence that General Sadaq is affiliated with Al-Shabaab.
